Slips and trips

A common cause of injury is tripping on an uneven surface or slipping on a substance spilt on a floor. This may be at work, out in public, or even in someone’s home.

Before we start to make a claim in these circumstances, it is helpful to:

have photographs and measurements of the uneven surface, defective pavement or spillage
establish who is responsible for the maintenance of the area in question
report the incident to the responsible party as soon as possible
